Latte, Cappuccino, Mocha: How to Beat Coffee Stains

Everyone falls victim to a coffee spillage now and again. Bumping into a colleague at work with a latte, or a spill while enjoying a late night decaf – these things happen! Luckily for us, those coffee stains will not be sticking around. Below we’ve put together a guide to the top five types of coffee, how they can stain your clothing differently, and how you can remove them from your clothing without a fuss thanks to Resolve®.

Latte

A delicious mix of espresso and milk, the perfect start you your day. Stain-wise, due to its high milk content, this one is relatively easy to remove from your clothing if you’re able to rinse it out as soon as possible.

Cappuccino

Cappuccino is known for its foam, and although it hides much of the liquid underneath, the foam itself can still leave a mark or two, especially if sprinkled with chocolate. Remember, as with all coffee stains, that it’s important not to rub the stain in since this makes it far more difficult to remove.

Macchiato

This coffee contains mostly espresso, with only a little drop of milk. This will make it a little harder to remove, and darker in colour, but nothing that Resolve® Oxi-Action can’t handle.

Mocha

This chocolate-filled delight is made with espresso, milk and usually a cocoa powder or syrup. Cocoa powders contain oils which will make a mocha coffee stain tougher to remove, so it’s important to soak the stain, or pre-treating it, before washing. The most effective method for removing any oil or fat stain is a gel based stained remover, so Resolve® Oxi-Action might be the best solution for this.

Espresso

Due to its high volume of coffee particles, an espresso coffee stain can be one of the toughest. Despite being small in size they pack a punch, so immediately dab the stain to pull away the excess spill as soon as possible. Pre-treating is essential.

How to Remove Coffee Stains

To remove a coffee stain from your clothing, immediately soak the garment in cold water. Once the garment has been soaked thoroughly, rub Resolve® Oxi-Action into the affected area, and don’t leave it on longer than five minutes. Finally, wash your garment in cold water and detergent to get rid of any faint marks that have been left behind. Once your clothing has dried, you garment will be stain free!
